He saw that a 2012 Dodge Caravan had hit a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria head-on. Later, it was learned that the Dodge driver, turning left onto Atlantic from southbound Warwick, had collided with the northbound Crown Victoria. Patrolman Galloway first spoke with Jesse, the driver of the Caravan. First responders checked her and suspected she broke her wrist. They advised her to go to the hospital, but she refused. Galloway saw an open Miller Lite bottle inside her vehicle and noticed signs she might be drunk. He asked her to perform field sobriety tests. He started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. During this, he saw that her eyes did not move smoothly. They show distinct nystagmus at maximum deviation and began too early. Next, Jesse struggled with the Walk and Turn test. She failed to keep her heels on the line and turned incorrectly. The last test was the One Leg Stand. She failed to lift her foot properly and put it down early. Because of the crash, the smell of alcohol, the open bottle, her confession of drinking before driving, and her poor performance on the tests, Galloway took Jesse into custody. her car was towed and held for at least 12 hours under John’s Law. One person in the Crown Victoria said their wrist hurt. Another complained of abdominal and knee pain. They were taken to Jefferson Hospital for care. Galloway also took Jesse to the police station for more processing. At the station, she listened to the Motor Vehicle Operator’s rights and agreed to give breath samples. Her blood alcohol content was 0.21%, well above the legal limit of 0.08%. She was later released to a sober adult who signed a liability form. Jesse received several tickets for her offenses, including DUI, reckless driving, careless driving, open container, unlicensed driving, and no proof of insurance. Court records show that on April 9, 2024, Jesse was found guilty of DUI and open container. She was ordered to use an ignition interlock device for a year, spend 12 hours at a resource center, and pay $623 in fines. The other four tickets were dropped as part of her plea deal. 0:48 She was mentally prepared thinking he was asking 5:45 you wanna mute real quick?? 9:51 I cannot believe they’re not on their way to the hospital. 15:23 One Leg Stand of Legends!!! 50:03 Cop was very unprofessional.
