On April 27, 2023, police and Child Protective Services (CPS) responded to a residence after receiving reports of extremely unsanitary and unsafe living conditions for children. When officers arrived, they heard the sounds of children inside, while the mother attempted to prevent them from entering. Inside the home, officers found a damp, cluttered environment filled with trash, spoiled food, foul odors, and clear signs of severe neglect. The conditions were deemed completely unsuitable for young children and household pets. Due to the hazardous environment and the parents’ lack of cooperation, officers handcuffed and detained both the father and the mother. At the time of the inspection, two small children were inside the home, while three others were at school. CPS and EMS were called in to assess the children’s health. Final Outcome Both parents were taken into custody on charges of child neglect and animal cruelty. All five children were transported by CPS for medical evaluations and removed from the unsafe living environment to ensure their safety. #bodycam #police #news #women
