On May 7, 2022, in Pompano Beach, a Broward Sheriff’s deputy approached 28-year-old Kianna Cooper while she was sitting in her car on the phone. The deputy asked her for ID without giving a reason, and within minutes the encounter escalated. Cooper was pulled from her vehicle and arrested on charges of assaulting the deputy — charges that were later dropped. This bodycam footage raises serious questions about police conduct, use of authority, and how quickly a simple ID request can turn into an arrest. Watch the full video and decide for yourself.
