On 01-16-2025, I was employed by the Collier County Sheriff's Office as a Tactical Flight Officer, assigned to the Aviation Unit. At approximately 1245 hours, I received a phone call from Dispatch, advising me that Lee County Sheriff's Office was requesting mutual aide for a vehicle pursuit of a suspect wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer. Air 1 launched and began responding to the area. Prior to arrival, we were advised that LCSO aviation was following the suspect vehicle. We coordinated with air traffic control, and spoke to LCSO helicopter crew direct via VHF frequency. LCSO advised that they had followed the vehicle to a parking garage. As we were responding, ground units advised that a carjacking had just occurred in the area and the suspect fled in a Vlazda CX-5. We provided the update to LCSO. Ground units advised they were in pursuit of the vehicle, but had lost visual in the area of Golden Gate Parkway and Goodlette Frank. Ourselves and LCSO aviation units began searching the area. LCSO located the vehicle near Pine Ridge and Airport Road and we provided that information to ground units. We arrived overhead and began recording as ground units again initiated a pursuit which traveled from the 107 mile marker to the 100 mile marker 175 SB at speeds in excess of 100mph. Units conducted a PIT maneuver and attempted to a felony stop. The suspect put the vehicle in reverse and rammed a police vehicle. Ground units pinned the suspect vehicle using their own. Air advised units to watch their cross fire. The suspect exited the driver's seat and fled on foot South towards Beck Boulevard. As the suspect was attempting to climb the fence a ground unit was able to knock the fence down with their vehicle.
