On August 29, 2023, Elyria Patrolwoman Mitchell stopped a vehicle after observing several traffic violations. The 26-year-old driver claimed to be an Uber driver on her way to pick up a passenger. Officer Mitchell asked the woman if she had consumed any alcohol and the woman initially said no. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but when it got time to perform the one leg stand, the woman asked for a lawyer and the test was stopped. The woman was then placed under arrest for DUI. Upon being placed in the back of the police car, she became belligerent and out of control. She violently flailed around and kicked the rear door of the police car. She was placed in a hobble restraint, but that did not stop her profane verbal outburst. She was transported to the Lorain County Jail. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
