The incident began around 11:37 PM when police received a report of an erratic driver who had damaged a sign. Officers located the black 2016 Jeep and made contact with the driver, who exhibited indicators of impairment and admitted to having "probably two drinks." After commencing the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, the officer made the critical decision to terminate further field sobriety exercises, citing concerns for the driver's safety. Subsequently, the driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence. A search of the vehicle later revealed an open container of alcohol, leading to its impoundment.
