On January 11, 2025, Tampa Police Officer Baker observed a vehicle traveling with no headlights on. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 22-year-old woman. She initially claimed her boyfriend was her passenger, but later referred to him as her ex-boyfriend. The woman was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. The boyfriend then decided that he wanted to walk away from the traffic stop and he was allowed to do so. The woman was eventually arrested for Driving Under the Influence. She refused to submit to breath alcohol testing and spent the night in the Hillsborough County Jail. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
