Patrolman Joshua Chambers was the first to arrive at the scene. He spoke with the driver of a 2013 Honda Accord, which had hit a parked 2008 Pontiac G6. The driver, later identified as Alison Singer, showed signs of being involved in the crash. Patrolman Peter McGovern arrived soon after and talked with Alison, while Chambers interviewed the owner of the Pontiac. Alison admitted she had been drinking earlier that night. Police officers grew suspicious she was impaired. Patrolman Mania arrived to check her sobriety. Alison said she had come from Off the Hook in Highlands and had four glasses of wine before driving. He started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. During this test, Mania saw clues of alcohol impairment—eye movement issues at maximum deviation and nystagmus onset before 45 degrees. He did not notice vertical nystagmus. Next was the Walk and Turn test. Alison did not touch her heel to toe during each step. She also didn’t follow the instructions and failed to turn around properly. The last test was the One Leg Stand. She couldn’t keep her balance and failed to hold her foot up. Because of the crash, her alcohol smell, and her poor performance on the tests, Patrolman Mania arrested Alison for driving drunk. Her car was taken and kept for 12 hours under John’s Law. She was taken to the police station for more steps. At the station, Mania read Alison her rights. She agreed to give a breath sample. Sergeant Bumbico used the breath testing machine. Her BAC was 0.276%, which is more than three times the legal limit of 0.08%. After testing, her husband signed a form allowing her to be released. She was released into his care until her court date. Patrolman McGovern gave Alison citations for three charges: driving under the influence, reckless driving, and careless driving. She also received a ticket for not staying in her lane. 2:47 I really thought she was going to puke! 5:54 So now it's 3 glasses of wine 5hrs ago. 9:14 Story 3: 4 glasses of wine 13:34 Funny/not funny. Yeah get that leaf out of the way 14:06 Gosh! It IS cold there. The Policeman's hand is shaking! If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
