This is 45-year-old Gina LaPlaca — and on St. Patrick's Day, she wasn't just any driver pulled over in Lumberton, New Jersey. She was the mayor. When officers from her own police department arrived at her driveway, they found a damaged mirror she couldn't explain, an open container in the car, and a breath test result so high they took her to a hospital instead of a cell — 0.308. Nearly four times the legal limit. What happened next stunned the entire state. The governor demanded she step down. She refused. A court blocked her deal, saying no special treatment... and then everything changed. Because the ending of this story didn't happen in a courtroom. It happened on another road, fourteen months later. Would you have handled it differently?
