On July 1, 2024, Lakewood police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that allegedly crossed over the marked lane lines painted on the roadway. The driver handled Officer Ivanovic her passport and told him that it was her license to drive. She denied consuming alcohol, but was unable to properly recite the English alphabet. When Officer Ivanovic asked her to step out of the vehicle, she refused many times. Eventually, a trio of officers were able to convince her to exit her vehicle. She performed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. However, she was adamant that she would not submit to a breath test at the police station. She was cited for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (Refusal), a Marked Lanes violation, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
