A routine traffic stop takes an unexpected turn as a driver, initially cooperative, begins to resist, leading officers to issue stern warnings about taser deployment. This incident began when an officer observed a vehicle operating erratically at night, swerving and without headlights. The officer initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver, who was identified as a 32-year-old individual. Upon request for license and registration, the driver explained he was distracted by his GPS and fatigued from a recent visit to a casino, denying any alcohol consumption. The officer then proceeded to conduct standard field sobriety tests, including the horizontal gaze nystagmus, walk-and-turn, and one-leg stand. Throughout these tests, the driver repeatedly cited tiredness and his recent casino departure, maintaining his denial of alcohol intake. However, the situation escalated during an attempted control maneuver. The individual began actively resisting the officers' directives. Officers repeatedly commanded the subject to cease resistance, warning him that a taser would be deployed if he continued to struggle. Despite these warnings, the subject persisted in fighting with the officers, proclaiming his innocence with statements like "I didn't do nothing" and "I'm not doing anything." As the struggle continued, with the subject on the ground, he eventually requested to be arrested, stating, "I'm down. Can you please just arrest me?"
