Strongsville, Ohio -- An officer with the SPD initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Pearl Road near Sprague Road. The vehicle decided to not pull over for officers and decided to flee the scene. Spike strips were eventually used to deflate the tires of the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle then bailed out on foot with officers and a K-9 in close pursuit. Eventually the operator was bitten and taken into custody. Police later found a firearm and discovered the suspect had an active warrant for robbery. The operator, later identified as Chajuan Mcdowell, was charged with the following: - Failure to comply with order, signal of police officer - Tampering with evidence - Receiving stolen property - Having weapons while under disability - Trafficking offense - Drug possession - Obstructing official business - Possessing criminal tools The charges above are from the Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court, but all were dismissed because s somehow he managed to get federally indicted, and due to a paywall, I'm not able to locate his federal charges. The most recent update I have is that his request for bond was denied as of January 10th, 2022. ⚠️ Footage from this video was obtained via the Ohio Public Records Act (R.C. 149.43) All suspects featured on the channel are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law ⚠️
