On February 24, 2023, Bowling Green Police Officer Moomey was on routine patrol when she noticed a black SUV accelerate quickly from a stop sign. She tried to catch up to the SUV, but she lost sight of it. As she was circling the neighborhood, she noticed that the SUV had turned off its headlights and turned down an alley. Officer Moomey got behind the SUV and initiated a traffic stop. The 23-year-old female driver claimed she had stopped her vehicle and was waiting for a ride because she felt she was too intoxicated to drive. That excuse didn't work, as Officer Moomey asked the woman to step out of her vehicle in order to conduct field sobriety tests (FSTs). The woman was eventually arrested and was transported to the Bowling Green police station. She submitted to an evidential breath test (EBT) and the result was 0.127% BAC.
