Around 3:20 PM on July 19, 2025, officers with the Readington Township Police Department were first dispatched to the Speedway gas station at 720 US Highway 202 on a report of an unconscious female inside a black 2007 Mazda. Officer Kevin Bereheiko first arrived on scene and made contact with a female behind the wheel, who was identified as Crystal Weber. He recognized her based on a prior interaction he had with her when he worked for the Lambertville Police Department. Crystal insisted that she was fine, and he cleared the scene after first responders evaluated her and she refused further medical attention. Approximately 2 hours later, Officer Bereheiko responded to the same gas station again and saw her passed out behind the wheel of the car. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Crystal was asked to perform field sobriety exercises after Officers Connor Strohm and Shirley Corodova arrived on scene to assist. Her poor performance on the field sobriety exercises confirmed the officers’ suspicion that she was impaired. Based on her indicators of impairment and her inability to satisfactorily perform the field sobriety exercises, Crystal was placed under arrest for operating under the influence. Officer Cordova first transported Crystal to the Branchburg Police Department for the administration of the breath test. A search of her vehicle incident to arrest yielded the presence of prohibited items. Crystal’s vehicle was then impounded for a 12-hour hold according to John’s Law. At the Branchburg Police Department, Crystal was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators by Officer Robert Gadaleta, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.000%. However, the officers believed that she was under the influence of another controlled substance besides alcohol. Since no DREs were able to respond to evaluate Crystal further, she was eventually released to Daniel Hendricks III pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning form on Crystal’s behalf. Crystal was issued the following traffic tickets: -Operating under the influence (39:4-50) -Careless driving (39:4-97) She was also criminally charged with possession (2C:36-2A). Court records indicate that on November 13, 2025, Crystal’s citation for DWI was dismissed, but she was found guilty of careless driving. Her charges of possession were downgraded to disorderly conduct (Ordinance G-91), and she had to pay a total of $423 in fines. Crystal has multiple prior arrests in Pennsylvania, including an arrest by the Pennsylvania State Police in 2017. She was also accused of aiding in a robbery in 2007. Following this incident, Crystal was later arrested again on October 16, 2025 in Clinton Township, NJ and charged with possession (2C:35-10A(1)). This was followed by another arrest on allegations of assault (2C:12-1A(1)) in Lambertville, NJ on January 16, 2026. ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). (P.L. 2024, c.16). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
