This guy (Daniel Wood) was born in Ukraine, he was adopted by an American family when he was a young child. He ended up joining the US Navy, he became a deserter in 2022 and had a federal warrant for over 2 years. He entered a treatment facility in Lima, Ohio for alcohol. While he was a resident of that facility he was staking out an older woman's house just down the street. He claims that he thought the lady was not home and broke into her house to steal a bunch of items. She happened to be at home and was woken up, he ended up stabbing her to death. He stole her car and credit cards and police tracked him using that info, he was arrested. This is the interrogation of him the same day he was arrested. He pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 30 years to life. It's very likely he will get out on parole at some point due to not having much of a criminal history. As far as I can tell the federal charges for being a military deserter were never pursued after the state murder case. News Clip from https://www.youtube.com/@HometownStationsLima 00:01 to 00:11
