On April 25, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Corporal Hickerson stopped a vehicle for allegedly traveling over 100 miles per hour. The vehicle was being driven by a 40-year-old woman. Her mother was a passenger in the vehicle. Corporal Hickerson suspected the woman was impaired, so Officer Haughney was contacted to conduct a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. The woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for DWI. She then revealed that she is a nurse at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Bernalillo County. The police report indicates this was the woman's third DWI arrest. She was transported to the police station, where she refused to submit to a breath test. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
