On May 2, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers responded to a domestic violence call. Officers cleared that call but told a 22-year-old woman that she was not allowed to drive because she had been consuming alcohol and license was revoked. While Officer Barsody was writing a report in his vehicle, he observed the woman drive down the street. He initiated a traffic stop on the woman, who immediately begged for leniency. When she was told to step out of the vehicle, she became hysterical and belligerent. Numerous officers had to assist in getting the woman handcuffed and placed in the back of the police vehicle. Officer Haughney arrived to begin a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. That investigation concluded with the woman being arrested. She again refused to get into the police vehicle and special restraints had to be applied. At the police station, she submitted two breath alcohol samples and the results were both 0.11% BAC. Her charges, including Felony Battery on a Peace Officer, are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
