A Tampa police officer was fired after bodycam footage showed him deploying his Taser without giving a man enough time to comply—and then telling him he was “lucky” he wasn’t beaten. But Officer Dukagjin Maxhuni had already been disciplined after disturbing 2022 bodycam footage captured him celebrating a “flying knee,” taunting residents and declaring who “runs the streets.” Tampa Police said its earlier punishment was designed to change his behavior. The Hillsborough County NAACP says that second chance came at the community’s expense. Now the NAACP wants Maxhuni prevented from serving elsewhere in Florida law enforcement and believes prosecutors should review his previous arrests. 📄 Story tips, resources & support 👉 https://www.thinblueliesmedia.com Submit police accountability tips, bodycam footage, public records, court documents, and local story leads.
