On November 29, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officers responded to a report of a car stuck on active train tracks. By the time Officers arrived, a bystander used his truck and a rope to pull the vehicle off the tracks. Officers made contact with the 66-year-old woman who denied being stuck on the train tracks. Officers attempted to interview the incoherent woman but she gave conflicting answers about the incident. She was eventually deemed to be too intoxicated to perform field sobriety testing. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Las Cruces Police Station. She provided two breath samples and the results were 0.27% and 0.28% BAC. She was charged with Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor. The status of her case is unknown.
