Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 1:02 AM on September 17, 2023, Officer Marcus Roundtree from the Franklin Township Police Department arrived at a car accident near Easton Avenue and DeMott Lane. The accident involved a 2022 Hyundai Genesis that had significant tire damage. When he got to the scene, he noticed that the front passenger tire and axle were badly damaged. He spoke with the driver, 28-year-old Tyasia, who struggled to remember how the accident occurred. Officer Roundtree smelled alcohol and saw that Tyasia was slurring her words, along with other signs that she might be impaired. Although she denied drinking, her fiancé later told him that she had consumed alcohol earlier that night. Given his concerns about her impairment, Officer Roundtree called for another officer to come and perform field sobriety tests. Officer James arrived at the scene at about 1:37 AM and asked Tyasia to do some sobriety tests. The first test was the Walk and Turn. Tyasia didn't manage to touch her heel to her toe with each step and also turned the wrong way. The last test was the One Leg Stand, where she struggled to lift her foot correctly, showed poor balance, and didn't count like she was supposed to. Following the car accident, there was a strong smell of alcohol, and Tyasia's fiancé mentioned she had been drinking earlier that night. Because she struggled to perform the field sobriety tests, Officer James arrested her for driving under the influence. Anthony Motors towed the vehicle and impounded it for a mandatory 12-hour hold as required by John’s Law. Officer Roundtree then took Tyasia to the Franklin Township Police Department for further processing. At the police headquarters, Officer Ellington read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators to Tyasia, and she agreed to take a breath test. The Alcotest showed her blood alcohol concentration was 0.14%. When asked about her last drink, she chose not to answer. Tyasia was finally let go to her fiancé while she waits for her court date, after he signed a form about potential liability for her. She received two summonses: one for operating under the influence and another for reckless driving.
