On July 4, 2024, Middletown Township Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident where a car crashed into a pole. As the first officer arrived, the 27-year-old driver was making her way out of the vehicle with the assistance of a motorist who stopped to help. The woman explained that she was returning from Donovan's Reef Beach Bar in Sea Bright, New Jersey. Because of the crash and the smell of alcohol coming from her breath, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. That concluded with her being placed under arrest for DUI. She was transported to the police station, where she refused to submit to a breath test. She was eventually released to the custody of her sister. She received 6 citations, which are discussed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
