CCTV surveillance camera video of a fight inside a Walmart store that escalated into a shooting. Location: North Versailles Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States Date: July 5, 2019 (Friday) Allegheny County Police Department: UPDATE: On July 6, at 6:40 PM, Rojanai Alston surrendered herself to County Police at police headquarters. Alston was transported to the Allegheny County Jail to await arraignment on her charge ORIGINAL POST: On July 5, 2019 at about 9:34 PM, County 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting a shooting inside the Walmart at North Versailles. North Versailles Police and local EMS responded to the scene where police located a 25-year-old woman in the electronics section who had multiple gunshot wounds. Police were able to secure the facility and EMS workers attended the victim. She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Police also determined that the shooter had fled the scene. County Police Homicide detectives were requested to assist. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the victim was with another female inside the store. The two females became engaged in a fight with a third female who ultimately shot the victim. The shooter has been identified as 22-year-old Rojanai Alston of Penn Hills. The motive surrounding the altercation and shooting is not known at this time. Dozens of customers and employees were in the store at the time of the shooting, but fortunately no other injuries were reported. An arrest warrant has been issued for Rojanai Alston. She is being charged with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault. Alston is described as a black female, 5’6” tall with a medium build.
