Police responded to a reckless-driving call in Key West, Florida — but the situation quickly escalated when the driver refused to provide her license. On August 5, 2022, officers were dispatched to a Circle K after a report of a reckless driver. When they arrived, they found a woman behind a damaged vehicle with flat tires and other visible damage. Officers questioned her about where she had been, how the damage happened, and whether she had been involved in a crash. During the investigation, an officer said he could smell alcohol on her breath and believed she appeared intoxicated. The situation became increasingly tense as officers repeatedly asked for her driver's license. Instead, she repeatedly asked to call her mother and said she wanted to speak with a lawyer. Officers eventually arrested her, and she was charged with resisting arrest and hit-and-run/leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, according to the video's final narration. But the story didn't end there. The prosecutor later dropped all charges after she successfully completed pre-trial diversion.
