On January 11, 2025, Las Cruces Police Sgt. Chavez observed a vehicle driving without headlights. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the police report indicates he detected the odor of alcohol coming from the 28-year-old driver. She was asked to step out of the vehicle, where she denied consuming any alcohol. She agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which led to her arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor. At the police station, she was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Law and she decided to refuse to submit to a breath alcohol test. Her list of charges is displayed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
