An erratic driver faces a crucial moment as a traffic stop escalates into field sobriety exercises and breathalyzer tests, revealing significant impairment. Responding to reports of a vehicle driving erratically and crossing the center line, an officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver, a young adult woman, initially denied alcohol consumption despite exhibiting incoherence and an odor of alcohol. After admitting to drinking a seltzer, she performed voluntary field sobriety exercises, failing the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand tests. A subsequent PBT indicated a 0.125% BAC, leading to her arrest for driving under the influence. During processing, she waived her rights, admitted to driving impaired, and a final breathalyzer confirmed a 0.111% BAC, significantly exceeding the 0.02% legal limit for underage motorists.
