Citizen vigilance plays a critical role in public safety, often leading to interventions that prevent further harm. Around 11:37 PM, a concerned witness reported an erratic driver in a black 2016 Jeep, describing how the vehicle swerved, struck a pedestrian sign near a ball field, and then stopped and backed up near a highway ramp. Officers quickly located the vehicle, and during the stop, indicators of impairment were observed in the driver. After field sobriety exercises were terminated due to safety concerns, the driver was arrested for operating under the influence. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an open container of alcohol, and the vehicle was impounded.
