Newly released body camera footage shows a St. Louis County police officer firing 11 shots at a car carrying teens outside a McDonald's on Bellefontaine Road on July 5, 2026, during a chaotic Fourth of July weekend night in Spanish Lake, Missouri. What happened: A pool party in the area spiraled into a crowd of hundreds of teens, blocked streets, fireworks, and fights. Police say officers were overwhelmed. As officers tried to clear the crowd, one officer ordered teens in a car to leave — but as the car pulled away, a second officer ran in front of it, shouted "Stop or I'll shoot," and opened fire. Two teens were shot and a third was hurt by broken glass. All three were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
