Officers in Homestead, Florida responded to a Publix after reports of a man allegedly threatening people inside the store. By the time deputies arrived, the suspect had locked himself inside a bathroom stall. Bodycam footage shows officers ordering him out before taking him into custody inside the store. But investigators say the backpack left behind revealed a much bigger concern. Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ashton Cawley. According to investigators, officers recovered a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, suspected marijuana, and a digital scale from the scene. Authorities later stated the incident could have ended much worse. Cawley was later charged with armed cannabis possession with intent to sell and was granted a $1,000 bond the following day. All footage was obtained through public records. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. #Bodycam #Police #TrueCrime
