On May 29, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roberson initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that allegedly failed to maintain its lane of traffic. The vehicle was being driven by a 32-year-old woman. Officer Roberson indicated he could smell burnt cannabis coming from the vehicle, so he called for a DWI Unit to come to his location to initiate an investigation. Officer Haughney arrived and asked the woman to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, Officer Haughney wanted the woman to complete the 2 remaining standardized tests. However, the woman felt they were unnecessary because she has seen TikTok videos where people pass the HGN test and end up getting arrested when they agree to perform the additional tests. Ultimately, the woman did complete the additional tests and she was arrested for her 2nd DWI. She was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station, where she submitted two breath samples. Both samples were 0.13% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
