An officer's observation of erratic driving on Route 36 triggers a traffic stop that quickly escalates into a suspected impairment investigation. Patrolman Braswell initiated the stop of a 2013 BMW after witnessing the vehicle fail to maintain its lane. The driver, a middle-aged woman with shoulder-length messy blonde hair, displayed slurred speech and appeared disoriented, prompting the arrival of a supervisor to administer field sobriety tests. Despite claiming English as her primary language, the driver struggled significantly with the Walk and Turn and One Leg Stand exercises, showing a clear inability to follow instructions and maintain balance, alongside objective signs of nystagmus during the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Following these observations and the discovery of damage to the vehicle's front bumper, the driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
