On June 5, 2026, deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit went to a duplex in Bunnell, Florida to serve a felony warrant on James Myers, 33. He had missed a court date on charges from a March incident in which deputies say he drove a stolen pickup at 92 mph in a 30 mph zone, crashed into a ditch, ran, and was found by a K9 hiding in the crawl space under a house. Deputies watching the property saw movement at the blinds and a doorbell camera tracking them. The woman who answered the door said he was not inside and that she had not seen him in weeks. A deputy told her he had just been seen getting in and out of her car. Inside, deputies found Myers wedged into the air handler of the home's air conditioning system, behind the ductwork. WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PATROL CAR Most of this video is the back seat. Myers asks to say goodbye to the woman he calls his wife, then tells a deputy that if they do not take her to jail he has "something he'll really like," and adds that he knows he is being recorded. Asked what he means, he offers drugs. The deputy tells him that is not his job. Later, asked whether he knew he had a court date, he says he climbs trees for a living, went to work that day and forgot. Then he complains that the vents in the patrol car do not work. THE CHARGES Myers was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and held without bond on a warrant for failure to appear. The underlying March charges include grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, driving while license suspended as a habitual offender, resisting an officer without violence, dangerous excessive speeding and reckless driving. Joann Rosario, 36, was found hiding in a closet and charged with obstruction of justice. She was released on her own recognizance. The sheriff's office said a K9, a drone and an armored vehicle were used during the search. None of those are seen in this footage. NEITHER PERSON HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF ANYTHING SHOWN HERE. Both are presumed innocent, and no plea, court date or disposition had been published at the time this video was made.
