She advised that she was going to attempt to stop him and ask for a receipt. Shortly hereafter, this subject took off running. Officer was waiting outside and loss prevention pointed out the suspect to the officer. The officer chased after this subject and yelled for him to stop and identified himself as the Police. He ran across the parking lot, but then stopped running and surrendered to the officer. The suspect was identified as 55 year old Rodney. Officers checked his criminal history and found that he already had three prior convictions for Theft by Shoplifting. The suspect was found to have tried to leave the store with $128.05 worth of merchandise without making payment for it. He was transported to CCSO and booked for Theft by Shoplifting (Felony). The video footage and an itemized receipt from this incident were provided to me and will be turned in as Evidence in this case.
