#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 05/21/2022, Officers responded in reference to discharging firearms. The caller told the call taker that a black male, in his 30's, approximately 6', and medium build, wearing a white t shirt and black jeans pointed a gun in her direction and fired one shot. She told the call taker that it was a handgun. She included that the male was across the street. Officers arrived on the scene and began to walk south approaching the scene. SPO Miller pointed out a male matching the above description in the yard. He began to turn around and walk away from officers. He was given a verbal command to stop. The suspect began to run behind the residence. Officers lost visual immediately has her rounded the corner of the residence. A perimeter was set up. Additional officers arrived and verbal contact was attempted with the occupant. A black male came out of the back door and identified himself as the suspects cousin. He mentioned the suspect was inside the residence. Dispatch advised the suspect had a local warrant. The suspects criminal history was reviewed and showed a felony conviction. CID and K9 were requested. SRT responded. After 3 hours the suspect was later taken into custody. National EMS evaluated the suspect. He was transported to the Clarke County Jail. An Officer later spoke with the caller. She told the officer that she was sitting on her front porch. Her husband opened the front door resulting in their dog escaping the residence and running across to her neighbor's house. She walked down her driveway and across the street to her mailbox. As she made it approximately 15 feet back up her driveway, she heard a loud pop come from behind her. She turned around and saw her dog running back toward her residence and saw the suspect pointing a pistol in her direction. She yelled to the suspect and he ran toward the back of the house.
