A terrifying wave of daytime break-ins has swept through peaceful Norfolk neighborhoods, leaving elderly and vulnerable residents living in total fear. Someone is smashing through windows in broad daylight, ransacking bedrooms, and vanishing with thousands of pounds in cash and cherished heirlooms. With no eyewitnesses on scene, detectives face a race against the clock to track down a ruthless serial offender before his brazen actions escalate into violence. Analyzing geographic patterns leads investigators straight to Marcus Stewart, a notorious twenty-year-old repeat offender who has only just been released from prison. As police launch a massive manhunt, Stewart uses quick thinking, local taxi services, and clever stalling tactics to stay one step ahead of the law. When he unexpectedly surrenders at the police station with completely clean hands and no mobile phone on his person, he believes he has outsmarted the system entirely. With the twenty-four-hour custody countdown ticking away and forensic tests stuck in the lab, detectives face the very real possibility of having to release a dangerous criminal back onto the streets. Everything hinges on a last-minute breakthrough as team members meticulously review hours of private security footage. A critical piece of evidence changes the entire investigation, setting up an intense final showdown inside the interrogation room.
