Per Arrest Affidavit: On the 02 day of July 2022 at approximately 12:08 AM at 200-Block/Central Ave, in Pinellas County did: THEN AND THERE KNOWINGLY, ACTUALLY, AND INTENTIONALLY TOUCH OR STRIKE SGT. M. KARAYIANES, A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF THE ST. PETERSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT, AGAINST THE WILL OF SGT. M. KARAYIANES WHILE SAID OFFICER WAS ENGAGED IN THE LAWFUL PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES, TO-WIT: INVESTIGATING AN ORDINANCE VIOLATION. THE DEFENDANT KNOWING SGT. M. KARAYIANES TO BE A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. OFFICERS PROVIDED THE DEFENDANT NUMEROUS WARNINGS IN REGARDS TO A VIOLATION OF A CITY ORDINANCE. THE DEFENDANT IGNORED THE WARNINGS AND CONTINUED TO SELL HOT DOGS IN THE ROADWAY AFTER THE STREET CLOSURE PERMIT ENDED. THE DEFENDANT WAS ASKED TO PUT THE HOTDOG DOWN AS HE CONTINUED HIS ATTEMPT TO SELL IT. THE DEFENDANT BECAME EXTREMELY UPSET, AND INTENTIONALLY THREW THE HOT DOG AT SGT. KARAYIANES, STRIKING SGT. KARAYIANES WITH THE HOT DOG. SGT. KARAYIANES WAS IN FULL POLICE UNIFORM AND IDENTIEIED HIMSELF TO THE DEFENDANT PRIOR TO THE BATTERY.
