On October 8, 2023, Woolwich Township police received a call about a vehicle that hit a curb and the female driver was trying to push the car off the curb. When Patrolman Trifiletti arrived, he discovered a badly damaged Hyundai Sonata and the 21-year-old driver with a large cut on her chin. Because Patrolman Trifiletti is not certified to perform the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, assisting officers from Logan Township were called. After Sgt. Boatright administered the tests, the woman was arrested for DUI. A search of her vehicle revealed a plastic cup allegedly full of alcohol. Enroute to the police station, the woman was able to slip out of the handcuffs, which she handed to Patrolman Trifiletti when they arrived at the police station. During the evidential breath test, she was unable to provide an adequate amount of breath. She received 4 citations and then Patrolman Trifiletti gave her a ride home, where he explained what happened to her mother. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
