On July 6, 2024, Asbury Park Police Officer Walsh was working an outside employment detail at Johnny Mac's House of Spirits. He walked over to Cookman Avenue and Main Street to check on a woman who was heavily intoxicated. While he was there, he observed a woman take a photograph of the intoxicated woman while she was sitting on the ground. Officer Walsh advised the woman that taking the photograph was in bad taste and he asked her to delete the picture. The woman denied taking a picture and became belligerent and agitated. Soon thereafter, she went up to a man in the area and kicked him without any provocation. Officer Walsh immediately went to arrest the woman, who tried to flee. Multiple officers arrived to assist in placing the woman in handcuffs. She was walked a short distance to the police station and was issued summonses for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
