Officers met with the Loss Prevention staff who showed me live security camera footage depicting a black female wearing a pink shirt and black leggings taking a black and white suitcase that was also property of Belk and stuffing a mass amount of clothing into the suitcase. Officers observed the female continue to take more clothing, taking several sizes of nearly every article of clothing. The female then exited the Belk store with the suitcase, avoiding any point-of-purchase, and alerting the security system, which she disregarded and continued walking out of the store. Officers then followed the female outside of the store and approached her, informing her that she was under arrest. The female resisted arrest by not allowing me to place her into handcuffs. Officers located all of the stolen property and the Loss Prevention personnel added the items up to a total of $2584. The suspect was transported to jail.
