On February 1, 2023, deputies in Hall County, Georgia, were dispatched to 5121 Oliver Road in Flowery Branch after a 911 call reported a toddler in cardiac arrest. When first responders arrived, 22-month-old Jamari Stringer was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital. Body cam footage shows the chaotic scene as deputies spoke with Jamari’s parents, Gloria Stringer and Jalaska Earls, who gave conflicting accounts of what happened that morning. Investigators quickly grew suspicious after noticing signs of drug use, and the case soon centered around a suspected fentanyl overdose.
