On May 23, 2022 at around 11:00 PM in Normal, Illinois, police pulled over 20-year-old Jahda Davis for a routine tail light violation. What began as a typical traffic stop quickly escalated into chaos when the officer suspected Davis of driving under the influence. What unfolds in this bodycam footage is a textbook example of a DUI arrest gone completely off the rails. Davis blames the issue on her rental car, claiming she didn’t know how to operate the lights. As the officer conducts sobriety tests, she becomes argumentative and visibly impaired. Once under arrest, Davis slips out of her handcuffs, bolts toward her vehicle, and attempts to flee. The situation turns physical when officers wrestle her to the ground and she bites a male officer, resulting in an aggravated battery charge.
