Fake Cop’s Attempt To Extort $5,000 From Resident Ends In A Disaster Flagler County detectives staged an undercover reverse sting after a scammer called a resident pretending to be a deputy, demanding $5,000 in cash to dismiss a fake arrest warrant. The victim immediately reported the call to actual law enforcement, allowing detectives to set up a sting using a decoy envelope placed in a neighborhood mailbox When 24-year-old Tori Harvey arrived to pick up the drop, undercover deputies were positioned nearby. After discovering paper towels inside the envelope instead of cash, Harvey left and attempted a second retrieval, at which point officers moved in and took him into custody. Upon interrogation, Harvey confessed that a prison inmate in Georgia recruited him on Instagram to collect the extortion money for a 10% commission. Harvey was booked into county custody on felony fraud charges Video Chapters: - Scammer Demands Cash Over The Phone - Undercover Deputies Set Mailbox Trap - Runner Checks Decoy Envelope & Gets Ambushed - Suspect Interrogation & Confession Disclaimer: All subjects featured in this footage are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
