A late-night call to a gas station reveals a severely intoxicated individual attempting to abandon her young children, leading to a harrowing search. Witnesses at a gas station reported a visibly intoxicated person attempting to abandon her two children. The individual allegedly grabbed an infant from the arm and tossed the baby toward the ground, though the child was caught by a bystander. After driving away with the children in a tan Cadillac SRX, police tracked the vehicle. During the subsequent encounter, the individual displayed extreme intoxication, slurred speech, and disorganized thinking, admitting intentions to leave the children for sexual activity. A hallucination about a third child jumping from the car prompted an extensive search by multiple officers, with the child later found safe with a family member. Officers located and detained the individual, conducting a thorough investigation before contacting child welfare services. The individual was arrested on charges including child neglect and public intoxication, and it was noted she was on probation for a previous child neglect case in another state. All children were safely taken into custody by child welfare services. --- Transparency through the lens of the law. Subscribe for more real bodycam breakdowns and on-the-street encounters.
