On March 17, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Police Officers Marco Grossman and Joseph DiMartino responded to McDonald's, 234 Washington St., to back-up Sgt. James Barbro who had been stopped by staff regarding a patron who refused to leave the establishment. The individual, later identified as 25-year-old Shreesh Pun of Hoboken, was told by officers he was no longer allowed in the store. Pun began to yell at officers and was told if he continued to do so, he would be arrested for disorderly conduct. He disregarded their orders to stop, and he was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. During transport to Hoboken Police Headquarters, Pun kicked and spit on the door of the car. After being processed, he was released with a summons.
