On March 4, 2025, a Stillwater, Oklahoma police detective arrived at a family home with a warrant for 17-year-old Jesse Butler, a Stillwater High School baseball player. This is the body camera and police lobby footage of his arrest, transport and booking, in the order it happened. WHAT HE WAS CHARGED WITH Butler was charged in Payne County with 11 counts involving two fellow students, including attempted first-degree rape, rape by instrumentation, sexual battery and domestic assault and battery by strangulation. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT In August 2025 he pleaded no contest to all 11 counts. Prosecutors and the defense agreed to youthful offender status: sentences totalling 78 years, served under juvenile supervision at home rather than in custody. On August 4, 2026, when he turned 19, the case was dismissed after a judge found he had complied with the program. The district attorney has said he is referring the case to federal authorities.
