On February 24, 2025 at approximately 7:05 PM, officers with the St. Charles Police Department were dispatched to Ulta at 3627 E Main Street on a report of a possible retail theft in progress. As they were en route to the store, Tricom relayed that 2 female subjects had just left the store in a black vehicle. Officer Bonifas arrived at the store and an Ulta employee showed him a picture of the vehicle involving a suspected shoplifter, and the Ulta employee was able to provide a tag number. Officer Bonifas then spoke with the store manager, who told him that she had observed 2 Indian females who had matched the description from a large theft a couple of week prior. He saw on camera that one of the females concealed a bottle of Valentino perfume before leaving the store. Officer Godhino checked the flock license plate recognition cameras for the license plates, and he noticed that the suspect vehicle was seen driving westbound on the Main Street bridge. The same vehicle was once again seen driving southbound on South Randall Road at 7:19 PM. The officers suspected that the duo may be heading towards another Ulta store in neighboring Geneva, so they radioed the Geneva Police Department to head over to their Ulta store and see if they could locate a vehicle with matching plates. At 7:32 PM, Officer Mulroe with the Geneva Police Department responded to the other Ulta store at 1560 South Randall Road, and he located the suspect vehicle with matching plates inside the parking lot. The vehicle was occupied by 2 females who matched the description of the suspects who had left the Ulta store in St. Charles. Officer Mulroe made contact with the suspected shoplifter in the passenger seat, and she was identified as 42-year-old Gurdeep Kaur. Sergeant Russo and Officer Solner arrived on scene shortly afterwards to assist. Gurderp denied being involved in the retail theft that had occurred at Ulta in St. Charles, but she was advised that she was being detained as the officers investigated. Officer Farfan with St. Charles PD headed over to the Ulta in Geneva, and Officer Godhino continued to review the surveillance footage. He confirmed that Gurdeep had stolen a bottle of perfume that was valued at $170. Officer Godhino obtained permission from the manager to have another employee ride with him in the squad car to head over to the Ulta in Geneva. Gurdeep was asked to exit the vehicle and the employee confirmed from the police car that the suspect in the parking lot was indeed the one who had stolen from the Ulta at St. Charles. At this time, Officer Farfan advised Gurdeep that she was under arrest. Gurdeep was placed in handcuffs, escorted to the patrol car, and transported back to the St. Charles Police Department for further processing. The suspect vehicle was towed from the parking lot. At the station, Gurdeep was photographed and fingerprinted. Once the officers were finished processing her, she was released pending her court appearance. Gurdeep was charged with the following: -Retail theft under $300 (720 ILCS 5/16-25-A-1) ------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information).
