It's natural to want to know what's going on but, when you step outside to see what's happening, you're not just putting yourself at risk—you're potentially interfering with the K-9's ability to do their job. As Corporal Fineberg explains it's distracting and could cause their K-9s to get confused about their track. You can always call our non emergency line at 727-582-6200 to find out what is going on. Remember: "If you see something, say something" still applies. If you have valuable information (like "someone just ran through my backyard"), please share it with deputies on scene. Otherwise, the best way to help is to remain safely indoors. Want to hear more insights from one of our dedicated K-9 handlers?
