It was traveling close to 90 miles per hour in a 50-mile-per-hour zone. The driver took the Tabor Road exit, then swerved onto the wrong side of the road and ran a red light. She continued south toward Morris Plains. Officer Gosden switched on his lights, and the Honda pulled onto the shoulder. He went to speak with the driver and passenger. The driver, 19-year-old Juliana Geller, admitted she had driven poorly. She asked to talk outside the car and told Officer Gosden she had just broken up with her boyfriend, who was riding in the passenger seat. She said she wanted to scare him because she thought he had cheated. Gosden smelled alcohol, but Juliana denied drinking. Suspecting she might be impaired, Gosden called for backup. Patrolman Guy Boccardi arrived to conduct sobriety tests, and Sergeant Jason Ferreira also came to the scene. Ferreira spoke with Juliana while Gosden questioned the passenger. Boccardi then began the tests. First, he checked Juliana's vision. During the Walk and Turn test, she failed to walk heel-to-toe and turned the wrong way. On the One Leg Stand test, she could not keep her foot raised steadily and counted the seconds incorrectly. Her driving, the smell of alcohol, and her test results led to her arrest on a drunk-driving charge. Gosden took her to the Parsippany Police Department and read her a statement about breath testing. She agreed to take the test. After a 20-minute wait, Boccardi set up the breathalyzer, but it failed to work. Juliana was taken to Boonton Police, where officers had a working Alcotest machine. At 5:22 a.m., it measured her blood alcohol level at 0.14%, nearly twice the legal limit. She was returned to Parsippany after the test, and officers completed her paperwork. A friend picked her up, and she was given a court date. Gosden issued several tickets, including underage drunk driving, reckless driving, and careless driving. Records show Juliana had a prior DWI from April 17, 2024, in Randolph, where she drove an Audi into a ditch. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
