An abandoned vehicle at a movie theater leads deputies to a disoriented driver whose shifting narrative quickly unravels under questioning. Following a hit-and-run report, deputies located a silver 2018 Subaru WRX STI with significant front-end damage abandoned at a movie theater entrance in the early morning hours. The driver, found in the driver's seat with the vehicle keys, exhibited clear signs of intoxication, including an inability to maintain balance and falling multiple times. Despite being found in this compromising position, he offered inconsistent accounts of who was driving, initially blaming a female, then a childhood friend, and finally an unknown individual. Field sobriety tests were quickly terminated due to his inability to follow instructions and safety concerns, leading to his arrest for aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after refusing a breath test. His guilt was further compounded by a passenger's confirmation and his own incriminating question to deputies during transport. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
