Bellevue, Washington — A 911 call reporting a possible domestic disturbance at the Bellevue Transit Center led to a violent confrontation between a suspect and responding officers on December 12, 2025. According to investigators, dispatchers received a report shortly after 12:30 p.m. from a caller who claimed a man and woman were involved in a heated argument at the transit center and that the situation was becoming increasingly volatile. Bellevue Police officers were sent to investigate the reported incident. When officers arrived, they located a man later identified as 38-year-old Mohamed Morray Bangura, who matched the description connected to the emergency call. Police say their initial contact with Bangura was calm and routine as they attempted to gather information about the reported disturbance. Body camera footage released by investigators shows officers speaking with Bangura for a brief period before the encounter abruptly changed. Authorities allege that Bangura suddenly produced a knife and rushed toward the officers without warning. Investigators say a violent struggle followed, during which one officer suffered significant injuries. According to police, the officer was cut across the face and stabbed in the back during the attack. A second officer discharged his firearm in an effort to stop the assault. Both Bangura and the injured officer were transported to Harborview Medical Center, where they received treatment and survived. Authorities later alleged that the original 911 report was fabricated and that no domestic violence incident was occurring at the transit center when officers were dispatched. Prosecutors contend the call was made to intentionally lure officers to the location, characterizing the incident as a planned attack. The case remains active in King County Superior Court. Bangura has entered not guilty pleas to charges that include first-degree assault and second-degree assault, both accompanied by deadly weapon enhancements. Court records indicate that Bangura remains in custody on $5 million bail while undergoing a competency evaluation. The release of body camera footage by the King County Independent Force Investigation Team occurred despite objections from prosecutors, who argued that public dissemination of the video could affect future court proceedings and the defendant's right to a fair trial. The criminal case remains ongoing. Disclaimer: This video is presented for educational, documentary, and informational purposes only.
