On April 5, 2024, Lacey Police Officers received numerous reports about a reckless driver. Officer Gerkman located the described vehicle as the 26-year-old driver was pulling into her driveway. She refused to submit to standardized field sobriety tests or a portable breath test. As a result, the woman was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. As she was about to be placed in the back of a police car, she suddenly attempted to kick the back door. Officers then decided to place the woman in the WRAP restraint device. She was transported to a local hospital, where officers obtained a search warrant for her blood.
